Final Project: Keep a log of your activities with your data, and remember to err on the side of including things. You can always take them out later. Some things to include in your log – how you got the data, any difficulties in understanding the data or the documentation, caveats (including the date and logical boundaries of the data, and any missing or blank records/fields). Then, as you begin to explore the data, you’ll want to include a record of what you do – queries, filters, pivot tables, or any clean-up work. Don’t just include things that work, but also what doesn’t. You’ll be emailing me your log and data.
Critique: Write a critique of at least 500 words on this Chicago Tribune piece on speeders. Be sure to comment on the effectiveness of the graphics as well. Remember to include what you would have done differently, and be specific!
